Two Review Layers, One Directory: 37 of 63 Korean Academy Profiles Carry a Verified Naver Place Sample — 11 With No Google Sample at All

Naver Place is a second public review layer that English-language academy comparisons may not read. In the July 19, 2026 collection, 37 of the 63 profiles in the PrepSignal directory carried a high-confidence Naver Place match across 41 confirmed places, and 11 of those profiles carry no Google review sample at all.

Key figures

  • 37 of 63 profiles carry a high-confidence Naver Place match, across 41 confirmed places, totaling 7,799 review items. (Evidence: PrepSignal collection, July 19, 2026)
  • 11 profiles have a Naver review sample but no Google review sample. The largest are Sage Prep (246 review items), LNB Prep (229) and Topcle Academy (174). (Evidence: PrepSignal collection, July 19, 2026)
  • Across the 26 profiles that carry both layers, the median Naver-to-Google review ratio is 8.2 to 1. The widest gap is Hackers SAT at 3 Google reviews and 2,094 Naver review items — a 698-to-1 ratio. Commentary

In the Hakwon Scale public dataset, collected July 16–August 3, 2026, the verified Google layer contains 591 review items across 30 profiles, with 82.4% in five profiles. In PrepSignal's verified Naver Place snapshot collected July 19, 2026, 67.4% of the review sample is in five profiles. The two layers reflect different user populations and remain separate.

For English-language families comparing live online options or schedules across US time zones, Google alone leaves a gap: no Google sample does not mean no public review evidence. Naver review items combine visitor reviews and blog reviews, so their review sample differs from Google reviews. PrepSignal therefore does not add the two platform counts.

In the PrepSignal public platform snapshot collected July 19, 2026, 7 of 63 profiles were possible matches with counts withheld, 14 had no confirmed place, and 5 were online-only. A verified comparison is limited to confirmed matches. Possible, unmatched and online-only records are not converted into zero review counts.

Scope of the comparison

  • The Naver Place evidence is the PrepSignal public platform snapshot collected July 19, 2026.
  • The Google evidence follows the Hakwon Scale public dataset collected July 16–August 3, 2026.
  • Counts apply to confirmed place IDs and profiles; possible matches remain withheld.

What the evidence can and cannot support

What it establishes

Naver Place is a second public review layer that English-language academy comparisons may not read. In the July 19, 2026 collection, 37 of the 63 profiles in the PrepSignal directory carried a high-confidence Naver Place match across 41 confirmed places, and 11 of those profiles carry no Google review sample at all.

What it does not establish

  • Treat a Naver review count as a sample-size signal for a specific place ID, not as a quality score. Two places under one brand are counted separately here.
  • Do not add Google and Naver counts together. The two platforms count different item types over different periods, and this directory keeps them in separate columns for that reason.
  • Where a profile shows "Possible match / counts withheld," read it as unverified rather than as zero. Ask the academy which Naver Place listing belongs to the campus your child would attend.
